After driving out of our way just to get our dogs some water play, we saw the signs on the fence advising the "beach" area is inaccessible. It is, of course, locked. We joined the chorus of unhappy dog owners who had come down with the same intent. While the "beach" area was never adequate for the popularity of the park - and many were going to email you their comments on that - at least it did have water access. There is a rumor afoot that this does not have to do with erosion but with the wishes of condo owners opposite that park on the other side of the river who do not want dogs swimming in their sightline. We would appreciate the truth. Because if that rumor is true, one can assume the "beach" will not be re-opened for the dogs - ever. Please clarify. Thank you.

Yes, it is a shame that the beach is closed, with that being said, Is there any of the other off leash parks that have water? Ponds, irrigation, streams, etc?? My dog just learned to swim and he very much misses the water. Any other ideas on where one could go to let the dog swim that is fairly contained? Thanks for the input. As a suggestion, is there the ability to put a small pond in any of the other parks?? It will truely be a shame if the river access does not reopen, I hope it was closed for the stated reason of erosion, not because of the condo owners. If that is the case we are going to have alot of really sad dogs and owners.
